A fully integrated 1.2GW solar plant is to be built in the Omsk region in Western Siberia, Russia at an estimated cost of €1.6 billion (approx US$2.4 billion), which will include a 10,000MT monosilane/polysilicon plant as well as c-Si solar cell and module production plants. Russian company Silarus, a 100% subsidiary of Titan, a major chemicals company, will own and operate the new business. NRG acquires 21MW power plant in Blythe, California from First Solar23

NRG Energy, via its wholly owned subsidiary NRG Solar LLC has bought the yet to be completed solar power plant in Blythe, California, from First Solar. The 21MW project occupies approximately 200 acres of land and is expected to be completed by the end of the year and is claimed to be the first and largest utility-scale PV project in California. First Solar and NRG did not disclose financial terms, however, First Solar will provide operations and maintenance services at Blythe under a long-term contract with NRG. "First Solar is very pleased that the first of our utility-scale solar projects in California will be coming on line with a leading power producer like NRG," said Bruce Sohn, president of First Solar. "This clean, affordable, and sustainable energy will help California meet the goals of its Renewable Portfolio Standard." Last Friday, KNREC announced an open competitive bidding result following a long-term PV solar subsidy contract  This open competitive bidding, which is twice a year, arranges for a 20-years long term contract by fixed price between the suppliers of PV solar power and major electrical power supplier in Korea  Through 20 years long term contracts, the company will participate in competitive bidding for stable PV solar electricity sales at a fixed price.
