can you see DC electricity network again in 100 years

DC island is a demonstration project of DC electrical supply network led by KEPCO in Korea Last year, Kepco, who is Korea's only one power distribution network operator start construction DC power supply network pilot project on a small island in South Korea
PV solar and wind power electricity generation is sharply increasing worldwide, that produces DC electricity and transfer by network to customer aftrr changed AC because DC electricity has loss when transfer and very difficult for long distance transfer than AC
therefore currently you can't see DC electricity network in worldwide

But interest thing, many of the electronics products like as refrigerator which have grown enormously around us, often use DC electricity as a source of power, so we must convert to DC again
In order to transfer electric power, DC-to-AC conversion is required, and then the transmitted AC is converted into DC to be converted again into total three time electric conversions, so that it can be used as a power source for electronic products used in our home
The problem is that a significant amount of electricity is lost in each of these electrical conversions process

KEPCO plans to build a 200MW solar power plant and a 100MW wind power plant, and then store the DC electricity generated here in the ESS and use it without conversion to AC
This requires an independent electricity network for DC electricity only, electric power distribution system and special household appliances that can turn DC electricity into a power source are needed, so LSis and LG Electronics are participating jointly

furthermore, the project is also intended to test the distributed grid system and the Smart Grid technology for PV and wind power generation
perhaps next year, we will be able to see Edison's DC electrical network in Korea again in 100 years
